<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="HID_TABDLG_APPLY_BTN" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you end the dialog with <span class="T1">OK </span><text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>or if you click <span class="T1">Apply </span>, the checked changes are carried out.</help:help-text> If you end the dialog with <span class="T1">Cancel</span>, no changes are carried out.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">A data source name should only occur once. The only exception to this rule is a data source that has been marked for deletion: you can use the name of this for a new data source.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">In the dialog you can see the following tab pages, which always relate to the database selected in the list on the left:</p>

<p class="P3">On the <span class="T1">General</span> tab page you can select a <span class="T1">Database type</span> in each case.</p>

<p class="P3">Depending on your selection a further tab page follows with the <span class="T1">Name of the database type</span> (see the following hyperlinks). An exception is the <span class="T1">Spreadsheet</span> entry, that does not have its own tab page.</p>

<p class="P3">There is also a <span class="T1">Tables,</span> <span class="T1">Queries and links</span> tab page.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">Use this database type to select a spreadsheet from <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> Calc or MS Excel as a data source. On the <span class="T1">Tables</span> tab page you can select from all tables that are not empty and have not been hidden.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">If you want to have an entire sheet as a data source, you must start the data in cell A1; the column title must appear in row 1. If data ranges have been defined in the spreadsheet, you can select any data range as your own database table. The data can only be read, not written.</p>
